I know who Peter Dinklage should play in Avengers: Infinity War.
Scratch that, I know who Peter Dinklage WILL play in Avengers: Infinity War.
No. I know who he HAS to play.
I’m getting a bit ahead of myself here. Let me start from the beginning.
Yesterday, Variety reported that Game of Thrones very own Peter Dinklage is in talks to star in Avengers: Infinity War.
The article states that Marvel have yet to comment on the news, but I think coming from Variety there are pretty good grounds for this story to be accurate.
Especially when you consider there are a good number of characters the versatile actor can play in the Marvel Universe.
Firstly, let me say it straight away: I don’t think he’ll be reprising his role as Dr. Bolivar Trask.
I can’t remember whether is character dies or not in X-Men: Days of Future Past (he probably does) so that might be one good reason.
The other is that this character is owned by Fox and I don’t think Marvel would bother doing a deal for such a minor character.
Also, I don’t think Bolivar Trask would be a character to even be included in the Avengers: Infinity War story line.
So who will he play?
I have two character’s in mind straight away.
The first, is Uatu the Watcher.
He would be an awesome Watcher; the mysterious and passive character. It would probably be the exact opposite of his Game of Thrones character – how would that not be appealing to him?
Also, with most intergalactic issues in the Marvel universe is almost always involved. This would be a good time to introduce him as any.

The next and most likely viable option for Peter Dinklage to play is Pip the Troll.
It makes a lot of sense as the character was prominent in the Infinity Gauntlet comic book storyline and is often featured with Adam Warlock (who is also rumoured to play a part in Avengers: Infinity War).
Pip the Troll lives a life of hedonism and debauchery, which would be a pretty fun character to play. (Read more about Pip the Troll on Wikipedia)
I guess the question becomes: is this character a little too much like Dinklage’s Game of Thrones Tyrion character.
Perhaps. But perhaps that’s why Marvel have earmarked him for the role.
Pip the Troll is who Peter Dinklage will play in Avengers: Infinity War – there’s no doubt in my mind.
