The new Star Wars movies is almost upon us. Can you believe that? For some it’s taken an age to roll around to this point, other’s it’s been a blink of an eye, but in either case fans from around the world arfe so hyped about this movie it’s untrue.
And thanks to the awesome, yet thought-provoking, trailers all our minds are focused on a couple of things: 1) Who is Kylo Ren and 2) where the hell is Luke Skywalker?
When asked about the presence of Luke, JJ Abrams has simply stated that “there is a good reason” why Luke isn’t in the trailer’s, which has lead some eager fans to posit that Luke is in fact Kylo Ren and theories have been put forward that at the end of Return of the Jedi Luke had begun his turn to the darkside.
Whilst this is quite a cool twist on things, one which would probably be quite favorable to Abrams, I’m not sure I buy it.
Instead, I love the theory that Jar Jar Binks is in fact Kylo Ren.
At first, I shared it with my buddy because he gets really annoyed about this kind of thing really easily. Then, well then I found an awesome, well thought-out and well-written article theory on Reddit which really blew my mind.
What if Jar Jar Binks WAS The Phantom Menace all along?
This theory is as crazy as it is convincing and you just HAVE to read it.
The pre-blurb for the theory by Reddit User Lumpawarroo is this:
“Here I will seek to establish that Jar Jar Binks, far from being simply the bumbling idiot he portrays himself as, is in fact a highly skilled force user in terms of martial ability and mind control.
“Furthermore, I assert that he was not, as many people assume, just an unwitting political tool manipulated by Palpatine– rather, he and Palpatine were likely in collaboration from the very beginning, and it’s entirely possible that Palpatine was a subordinate underling to Binks throughout both trilogies.
“And finally, given the above, I will conclude with an argument as to why I believe it is not only possible, but plausible that Jar Jar will make a profound impact on the upcoming movies, and what his role may be.”
Seriously, go read this theory right here, it’ll almost make the prequel trilogy watchable.
