The New Spider-Man news alert: Anew actor has been cast in the role of Peter Parker AKA Spider-Man (as if you didn’t know)!
A little while back, we posted an article detailing the five names Marvel Studio’s were looking into in order to replace Andrew Garfield in anotehr reboot of the iconic Spider-Man figure. That list read:
A lot of people – including myself – thought that the role was Asa Butterfield’s to turn down (maybe he did, you never know), but it turns out that the part ended up going to someone else on that list: Tom Holland.
Tom Holland is a British actor who’s had a few major roles in Tom Hardy’s Locke, Kevin MacDonald’s How I Live Now and the impressive Henry VIII mini-series Wolf Hall and for this geek’s liking, can pull off the role of Peter Parker quite well.
He’s got the geeky, unconventionally handsome look and in the past he has proven to be able to build a certain level of vulnerability into his characters – something Spider-Man sorely needs.
Holland joins newly appointed director, Jon Watts, to head up the Spider-Man reboot which will be heading our way in 2017.
