Superman v Batman is one of the most anticipated upcoming movies for comic book geeks and movie buffs everywhere.
Not only is the ever-expending cast looking entirely awesome, but also will inevitably be the pre-cursor towards the Justice League movie every DC Fan has been champing at the bit for since Marvel set the ball rolling with their impressive Marvel movie universe.
As of late, the casting choice fans have been questioning the most is the appointment of Jesse Eisenberg as Superman’s arch-nemsis Lex Luthor, but a lot of people seem to have overlooked the inspired casting choice of Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth.
Today, speaking with THR, Irons has provided eager fans with an insight of what they can expect from his version of the infamous butler.
“He is quite a different Alfred than we have seen so far. Zack Snyder had very clear views about what he wanted… I would just say he’s more hands-on perhaps than just a butler.”
So what can we take from this? Iron’s is most likely basing his version on Alfred Pennyworth from the Batman: Earth Onebook.
In this book, Alfred is a former Royal Marine, a skilled martial artist and a sharpshooter. In this storyline it is Alfred who initially trains Bruce in his quest to be Batman.
