The San Diego Comic Con is in full swing and that means announcements galore regarding your favourite forthcoming Marvel movies.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is no exception. We finally found out who Peter Quill’s father is and you’re not quite going to believe it.
Okay, so everyone thought this was an easy call. Since Quill’s true father, Jason of Spartax, was featured quite prominently in the comic books recently an’ all.
But no. Marvel has chosen to go in a completely different direction. A direction that not a lot of people would’ve ever guessed.
Peter Quill’s father is Ego the Living Planet. Yeah, you DID read that correctly.
I know that’s not quite believable, so I’ll post my source from Deadline Hollywood reporting the news right here.
I don’t even know where to go from there. I mean. Kurt Russell will play a planet and that planet fathered a child with a human woman. Somehow.
Next you’ll be telling there’s going to be a talking Raccoon or a walking tree in the movie too. Oh wait.
And it gets better. At Comic Con, the news was accompanied by a trailer. In that trailer Drax is more than a little blunt with Ego. He asks, “Did you make a penis?”.
By make, he means did Ego the living planet actually grow a penis. On his planet. The mechanics for this revelation are absolutely mind-boggling.
Ego responds in the only way Kurt Russell portraying a living planet can, “Yes Drax, I have a penis. It’s not bad either.”
I was just sick a little. God only knows how Star-Lord reacted.
