No thanks, I'm good.X-Men: Age of Apocalypse is officially out and on the whole, the reviews seem to be positive (haven’t had the time to watch it yet), but what next for the franchise?
The latest X-Men movie hasn’t even finished playing the in the cinema yet and everybody is already asking the question: what next for the franchise? Also, they’re probably also asking: where the hell do you go next after Apocalypse??? But if you’ve watched the after-credits scene, then you’ll already have a bit of a clue, am I right?
Jumping on the chance to query what’s next for the cast and the franchise, The Hollywood Reporter question them in a recent – and totally awesome – interview.
For co-writer Simon Kinberg, he’d want ALL the characters to return.
“I definitely see [the new characters introduced in Apocalypse] as being a huge part of the franchise. I’d love to keep making movies with the cast we have now because I love working with these actors and I think they love making these movies,” He said. “They’ve really become a little family: McAvoy, Fassbender, Jen, Nick Hoult, Evan Peters. I’m not the person who writes the checks but if it were up to me, we would have them back.”
But as the man says, he’s not the one writing the checks and as Jennifer Lawrence has already stated, it will take a lot to get her back in the blue. James McAvoy on the other hand, is quite happy to reprise his role.
“Every time I’ve played Charles, I’ve gotten to do a slightly different thing, which has been satisfying and challenging for me. So if that continues to happen and I continue to have the opportunity to do interesting things as an actor, I’ll jump at the chance,” McAvoy said. “If it gets stale, if it gets to be the same thing as I did last movie, I’d think twice about it. We’ll wait and see what Simon comes up with. He always writes interesting stuff for me. I’m guessing I’ll come back.”
Evan Peters, the man portraying Quicksilver, was also characteristically quick off the mark.
“Oh my God, absolutely, yeah, 100 percent. I’d like to see Quicksilver go a little dark. Get on that dark Magneto side. Like father, like son.”
What do you guys think? Would you like to see more from the X-Men cast?
