It’s official: Martin Freeman has been cast in Captain America Civil War.
Can you say Awesomeo?
Marvel dropped the news last night that The Hobbit’s own Martin Freeman has been cast in Captain America Civil War…but have neglected to give any further details away.
Annoying!
With the plethora of Marvel characters already signed up to Captain America Civil War (virtually all of the Avengers from Age of Ultron, along with Black Panther) I don’t think he’ll be playing a superhero.
Indeed, with the villains also assigned to the movie (Frank Grillo returning to portray Crossbones and Daniel Bruhl recently cast as Baron Zemo) it’s hard to picture him as an additional villain.
And as for The Winter Soldier – who knows what side he’ll be on.
No, my money is on Freeman portraying a senator of some kind. He’ll be the one vying to get the Registration Act and persuading Tony Stark to get on board with it.
