Yesterday, it was announced that the totally awesome Marvel/Netflix show Jessica Jones got picked up for a second season – how awesome is that?
The question is, will David Tennant be returning to the show?
The news of Jessica Jones season 2 was confirmed by CinemaBlend just the other day and I have to admit, I was pretty hyped when I first read the article.
I know Jessica Jones wasn’t every comic book geek’s cup of tee – some thought the show was slow and boring, but I couldn’t disagree more. The show developed the story and the characters in such a way that it kept me entranced and didn’t have to go at the same blistering pace as Daredevil at the same time.
The Daredevil series was entirely awesome, but the pace of the show was fierce. It shredded through the characters at such a pace, it often didn’t leave the viewer the time to fully absorb it before sprinting onward. I mean, it was entirely awesome, but i for one would’ve liked to see the Gladiator and The Owl characters fully develop before bumping them off.
Maybe that’s just me.
One of the outstanding aspects of Jessica Jones was just how fucking creepy David Tennant was in portraying The Purple Man. He was something else and gave the show a whole new dimension, so naturally, I wanna know whether there’ll be more purple creepiness in the shows second time around.
Okay. It’s spoiler time people. For those who haven’t watched all of the Jessica Jones series it’s time to get the hell out of here.

Yeah, I know The Purple Man character died in season 1 of the show, okay? But the very nature of the villain means that that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s dead. He get’s into people’s heads and STAYS there. I’m hoping in Jessica Jones season 2 we will see the villain again.
The damage he’s done to Jessica and all of his victims ain’t over. It may never be over.
In a conversation with Digital Spy, Krysten Ritter had this to say about her character moving forward.
“It’s very conflicting, in terms of Jessica’s headspace. He’s the reason she got up every day, why she went out into the world, he really gave her a purpose. And I don’t think the past trauma just goes away with his death.”
I think flashback sequences are a valid way to move forward here, or even a voice in Jessica Jone’s head. Anything. I just want more Tennant.
