No thanks, I'm good. The geek community has known in one way or another since the summer that Jason Mamoa has tapped up to portrayed DC’s great aquatic superhero Aquaman in DC’s impending assault on a unified movie universe.
Since that time, Mamoa has had to deflect every Aquaman question thrown his way and successfully so.
Now that the casting is official, what does Mamoa have to say about his role? Let’s find out.
Today it has been reported that Jason Mamoa has been taking at the Comic-Con Experience in Sao Paulo and was finally able talk openly about his Aquaman role.
The first thing that came up was just how long he’s had the Aquaman role. His answer? A Loooooonnnnnng time before the official release, but had to keep his mouth shut.
So how long? At this time it’s not sure. Could he mean since Summer when we all knew about it – or could he mean even longer than that? If so, just how long has this thing been in the works? The mind boggles.
Not only has Mamoa had the role for some time, he will maintain it for even longer. At the Comic-Con Experience, Mamoa confirmed that he’d been signed to a 4 picture contract to play Arthur Curry / Aquaman.
So what four movies will this entail? Will a cameo in Superman v Batman: The Dawn of Justice count as one? I suspect so. So that will leave the two part Justice League movie and perhaps a solo movie?
Mamoa believes a solo movie is on the cards and at Comic-Con Experience stated his choice to direct him: Zack Snyder.
Whether that will happen with Synder booked up for the next five or so years with the Justice League movies is another matter.
Awesome, right?
