No thanks, I'm good.That’s right folks, not only did Charlie Cox audition for the Han Solo role, but he lost out on the role because of Daredevil.
WTF???
Recently, Daredevil actor Charlie Cox told a story to the Hollywood Reporter during an interview regarding his off Broadway play “Incognito”. That story was about a Han Solo audition that went wrong and it was rather epic.
Cox tee’s the story up with, “It’s been really fun to look people in the eye.”
Because, obviously, when playing a blind Lawyer an important part of the acting method is pretending you’re blind. And that means you can’t look folk in the eye.
You can probably see where this is heading.
“I had gone to an audition — one of those things that are super secretive and they don’t tell you, but I’m pretty sure it was for the Han Solo reboot— and halfway through it, the casting director stopped me and said, ‘Why aren’t you looking at me?’ I realized I had gotten into a habit of not making eye contact, because the only thing I had done for two years is play someone who is blind. I never got invited back, probably because they couldn’t figure out why I was acting like a complete idiot.”
That’s a damned shame too, because I think he would’ve made a fantastic Han Solo.
