Ad Granov is a very talented artist – in fact, my favourite – who was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia. He fled the country to America at the age of 16 with his mother and his sister in 1994 at 16, to avoid the war. There he studied art and started creating entirely awesome master pieces.
Today, he lives in a small village near Leeds in the UK and is still creating arguably THE most awesome geek art available on the interwebs or elsewhere.
I had the pleasure of meeting Granov a number of times at the Leeds-based comic book convention Thought Bubble a couple of years back. He sketched me an awesome Thing, which leaves the rest of the sketches miles behind (except maybe that sketch Mark Waid did for me of Batman whilst I was waiting for Rivera to show up – he of course signed it from Jim Lee).
