With Sony’s recent hacking problems, there has been serious doubt as to whether the Amazing Spider-Man franchise would continue with the troubled studio. Today, however, it seems we have a little hope.
For the past three months there has been much speculation as to the status of Andrew Gardfield’s role as the infamous webslinger, Spider-Man.
It was said that Garfield had “lost his deal” with Sony and other suggestions that Sony were instead looking to farm the franchise back to Marvel in a deal that would see them maintain “creative control, marketing and distribution.”
The rumours came from private Sony emails released to the public during the hacking scandal, in which Marvel negotiated with the studio in order to integrate the webslinger into the Marvel movie universe. But the deal fell through.
Now, however, there seems to be a little firm evidence to suggest that not only will Amazing Spider-Man be soon going into production, but also that Andrew Garfield and Dane Dehaan are set to return.
The evidence comes from a casting call which calls for extra’s work on the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man movie featuring its leading men.

Okay, so it’s no iron clad, but at the moment it’s all we’ve got to go on. Personally, I welcome a third iteration of the franchise and am eager to jump on any hope I can find.
