A couple of weeks back, I posted an article reporting that the Gambit solo movie was in a bit of trouble due to Fox re-arranging release dates and pretty much pulling the movie from the schedule.
So what’s next for the ailing Cajun hero?
Now there are reports that there’s a delay in production of the movie.
The news comes from The Hollywood Reporter, who revealed that Gambit director Doug Liman will direct the movie “The Wall” (Amazon’s first ever original movie) before taking on Channing Tatum’s Gambit.
The movie was supposed to start production early this year, but rewrites had pushed it to end of the year.
Reports suggest that Liman will be able to shoot “The Wall” over the summer, freeing him up at the end of the year to tackle Gambit – assuming nothing else has hampered the struggling superhero movie.
I think if Tatum stays attached the movie, Gambit WILL happen, but at this point, should it? Most comic book fans I have spoken just want the drama to end already, others think they should just abandon the movie altogether.
I’m in the middle. I’d like to see the movie made as Gambit is one of more complex characters Marvel has to offer and I have been a fan of him over the years, but I don’t want to see a Gambit movie that is a complete mess.
What do you guys think?
