No thanks, I'm good.So far, the hype for the Fantastic Four movie has been less than stellar. Now, an official synopsis for the movie has been released and it’s slightly less awful than you might think.
Today, the studio released the official synopsis on movie review site Rotten Tomatoes and considering all the negative hype surrounding the movie, it wasn’t all that bad.
Check it out for yourself below:
THE FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy. (C) Fox
Judging by the synopsis, the origin story for the group of heroes hasn’t altered from the original comic book storyline. Instead, it seems they’re more looking towards the origin story from the Ultimate Fantastic Four comic book storyline, which honestly, ins’t all that bad.
I picked up the Ultimate Fantastic Four comic book and it was pretty good. They re-imagined the characters a little, built up the bond more between Reed and Ben and I have to say it worked out well. I was drawn in by the story and was intrigued by the changing of the concepts.
That’s not to say the movie will be based solely on the Ultimate Storyline – doubt that very much – and I can’t say I’m as hyped about the movie as other Marvel projects, but I can’t write this thing off just yet.
The movie is scheduled to be released on 7th August 2015.
