So a bit of Deadpool news for the die hard fans out there. We have news of the second weekend total takings as well as a new Deadpool comic book confirmation with another cult X-Men character…but who?

When Deadline Hollywood posted the Deadpool movie’s total global gross so far yesterday, I nearly fell out of my damn chair.
This past weekend, Deadpool picked up another $85.3 million in 74 offshore markets, bringing it ever closer to the $500 million global total (which is expected to be reached before the end of the day).
For a $58 million budget movie, that’s not too bad at all profit-margin wise and this is just the second weekend. No wonder Hollywood are looking at this model and are attempting to replicate it.
Another VERY interesting development in the comic book world is the proposed team-up of Deadpool and the Cajun X-Men hero Gambit for a new ongoing title.
I find this team up highly interesting.
It could be nothing or it could be everything, but consider what we know. We know FOX are making a Gambit movie and we know Ryan Reynolds is talking about an X-Force movie. We also know that there’s a 100% chance that Cable will be in the Deadpool sequel.
I think the Deadpool sequel will set-up the X-Force movie. I think Deadpool and Cable will produce the core of the team and perhaps a couple of more name’s will be introduced along the way. Name’s such as Gambit perhaps? The possibility is there.
Perhaps Deadpool will even show up in the Gambit movie? Makes sense if the above is accurate, also makes sense commercially for Fox.
Think about it. How can Fox virtually guarantee high box office ratings for Gambit? The film alone will generate a decent return, but what if they were to ‘leak’ a Deadpool cameo in the movie? Can you imagine how much more return they’d get? It’s definitely something for everyone to think about.
