No thanks, I'm good.As we all knew, the TV adaptation of the awesome Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s comic book – Preacher – had a pilot in the works at AMC and due to the controversial nature of the story (it talks about God in a not-so-fond way), there was serious debate as to whether the show would get picked up.
Looks like AMC are willing to take the chance.
So what is Preacher? Preacher is one of my favourite comic book’s of all time. I mean, it’s just EPIC. It follows the story of Jesse Custer. An abused man forced into Preaching by his evil family. One day, Genesis – a creature born from naughty fun time between an angel and a demon – escapes from Heaven. God goes into hiding and Genesis requires a host.
Genesis finds Custer.
Accompanied by an alcoholic Irish vampire and his hitman ex-girlfriend and armed with the word of god, he sets out to God to make him pay for abandoning the human race. Meanwhile, the angels are panicking and they want Gensis back under lock and key, so they send The Killer of Saints hunting for it.
Sounds cool, huh? That’s because it is dammit!
The Preacher TV show was confirmed by Seth Rogen on Twitter, when last night he did the following Tweet:
Preacher is coming to AMC! @evandgoldberg @SamCatlin123! The beginning is nigh!!! pic.twitter.com/xVgqYrkEK9
— Seth Rogen (@Sethrogen) September 9, 2015
Rogen subsequently followed up the tweet with another stating the show had been picked up for a 10 episode pick-up scheduled to hit our screens mid-2016, with May being thrown a lot by the folk in the know.
