Netflix Luke Cage casting news alert: the show casts three new and newish characters – and they’re awesome!

I must admit, I was already looking forward to the Luke Cage show. He’s a character I’ve loved throughout the years. Primarily because he’s a street level hero, pitting himself with the likes of Iron Fist and Daredevil – a trio of awesome.
Then, when Bendis took over Avengers writing duties and decided to integrate the character into the Marvel mainstream, I loved him even more. Bendis brought out his character a little more and made him a major player the Marvel Universe.
Now Netflix have the chance to the do that with Marvel TV Universe and honestly, I think they’re taking the right steps to ensure it – especially with casting these 3 actors in the show.
First up, a familiar face has been cast in the show. It has been revealed that Rosario Dawson will reprise her role as Claire Temple AKA the character who is essentially the “Night Nurse” but don’t want to call her that.
For those who haven’t seen the Netflix Daredevil show (WHHHHAAAAAATTTTT????) Dawson’s character is basically the one who patches Matt Murdock up after a rough night of inserting his foot into bad guys asses.
Next up, Sons of Anarchy’s own Theo Rossi has also been cast in the show. It is reported that Rossi will play Luke Cage villain “Shades” AKA Alvarez in the show (no, I’d never heard of him either).
The third and final actor to be cast in the show is Simone Missick who has landed a key role in the show. It is believed that the actress will play the role of private detective turned hero, Misty Knight.
