No thanks, I'm good. That’s right, the two superhero teams which are set to collide have been revealed in a set of promo art which is really quite epic!
Check it out, but beware – there be possible spoilers ahead!
Captain America Civil War is the third installment of Marvel’s Captain America franchise and is scheduled to pit hero against hero in a superhero civil war.
The leaders of each team will be Captain America and Iron Man respectively and whilst the true nature of the cause of the divide between the two heroes has yet to be fully revealed yet, it has been heavily hinted at.
The hints came in the Ant-Man after credits, which Cap and The Falcon have captured the Winter Soldier. They talk about “Sanctions” and mention Tony Stark. The divide between the two of them is heavily hinted there, but perhaps seems like it has only just taken place.
At this point, I think it’s safe to assume that these “Sanctions” come from the government. In the comic books, it’s Tony who sides with the Government against Cap, but I have no idea how the movie version of the story will play out.
Now’s let’s have a look at those teams. Firstly, Cap’s team:
So Cap’s line-up is: Ant-Man, Hawkeye, Sharon Carter, Cap, Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
Interesting. Now Iron Man’s:
Iron Man’s line-up consists of War Machine, Black Widow, Iron Man, Black Panther and The Vision.
Is it me, or does Iron Man’s team seem a lot more powerful? REGARDLESS, there’s an interesting divide there. Captain America and The Black Widow worked closely together in both Avengers AND Captain America Winter Soldier. ALSO, we know from the Avengers that Hawkeye and Black Widow have known each other for a long time and are really close.
Notable in their absence are The Hulk, Thor, Scarlet Witch and Spider-Man. The Hulk is scheduled to make an appearance in the movie, but it hasn’t yet been revealed what role he’ll play. I strongly suspect, The Hulk will be the cause of the Civil War. He’ll be the reason the government have created these “sanctions” and this would also explain why General Ross is in the movie.
Thor will play no part in the movie (sorry ladies), he’s off in Asgard somewhere, leaving us mere mortals to it.
Scarlet Witch is an interesting one. She doesn’t like Tony Stark and she has quite a bit of power behind her – a perfect candidate to balance things up a little for Cap’s side. Also, her and Hawkeye had a moment in Avengers Age of Ultron, so that would back the theory up too. I wonder why she’s not depicted in the promo pics.
Spider-Man, much like the comic books, I feel will play a pivital role in the movie. He’ll firstly join Iron Man’s side, see that they’re wrong, then join Cap.
So there you have it.
