Gotham Season 2 will hit us in just under a months time and to celebrate, a trailer for the new series has been released.
It’s called “villains rising” and if you watch it, then you’ll see why.
A good number of people will agree that Gotham had a solid first season. Some loved it, some thought it was good or average and fewer people hated it.
Me? I trailed off before the end of the season. I was totally hooked at the beginning; I was fascinated by Jim Gordon’s struggle with Gotham’s corrupt police force (despite it not being anything like Batman: Year One), fascinated by the Penguin’s fall and rise and also loved the Edward Nigma and his slow, yet, inevitable descent.
But I lost track of the series at some point or another (probably the Christmas break) and never picked up the show again.
I think there was also a “Smallville” element to the show which I didn’t like; despite the interesting underlying story arc, there was always seemed to be a “freak of week” Gordon had to battle. That gets old real fast – it certainly did for Smallville (at least for me it did).
Another thing I’m not too fond of is this carnival kid who they’re saying is an early incarnation of The Joker. I’m not sure I like this on any level. Cameron Monaghan’s portrayal of the character was half-decent to be fair, I’m just not comfortable with the Joker’s backstory being revealed.
Whether Cameron Monaghan’s Jerome Valeska character will end up being the Joker or whether the Gotham creator’s have set this up to be a giant swerve is yet to be determined – I would bank on the latter, but I’m most probably wrong.
ANYWAY, rant over, let’s get to the trailer. This Gotham Season 2 trailer is entitled Rise of the Villain’s and it shows us a number of cool things that could very well be happening this season.
