Guardians of the Galaxy 2 news ahoy!
So at the tail-end of last week, Marvel posted a very interesting picture on their blog.
It was of Kevin Bacon and it was as interesting as hell.
The end of the first Guardian of the Galaxy movie pretty much lay the foundation for the second. We learnt that Peter’s father was an alien (just like his mother had told him) AND that Yondu was tasked with finding him for his father (and that Yondu thinks his father’s an asshole).
Indeed, this was confirmed a little while back, when James Gunn revealed a number of things regarding the sequel of the hit Marvel movie, stating that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 was about fatherhood. And it makes sense. In the comic books, Peter Quill’s father is called J’Son of Sparta; a century’s old ruler of the planet Spartoi Empire who previously was accused of treason and banished to Earth (find out more about the character right here).
So jump to last week, when the real Guardians of the Galaxy 2 news comes about. Marvel posted the below image on their blog (and Instagram):
So what could this mean? It means that Kevin Bacon could be playing J’Son of Spartax AKA Peter Quill’s father and from what I read of the character in the comic book, I totally believe that Bacon can pull this off (because he’s Kevin-goddamn-bacon!).
I hope this is true because it will totally work!
