Gambit Movie News: Movie in Jeopardy

Gambit Movie News | First Detail of Gambit Movie Begin to be revealed

Gamnit Movie News Alert!

Despite positive reports earlier in the week regarding production dates and casting options and potential villains, it seems that I have some potential bad news for you all.

The movie is in jeopardy.

The Deal Unravels

The news comes from The Wrap, who are reporting that The Gambit movie is now in serious jeopardy, after sources close to the deal have indicated that Channing Tatum is reportedly set to leave the project.

The reasons for the potential departure are as of yet unknown, but considering Tatum actively campaigned for the part in the movie and has a hand in the production of the movie (along with production partner Reid Carolin), the reasons must be good.

Maybe he didn’t like the direction in which the character was heading? Gambit is a really complex character and I’m sure Tatum had a idea of how he wanted to play him, but if the script is anything like the character that was portrayed in Wolverine: Origins, then I can understand why the man wants out.

I’ll report more on this or any other Gambit movie news when more information comes out.

My reaction is: I hope the movie continues. I think it CAN survive without Tatum and would love to see Taylor Kitsch recast as the character again – if the movie actually uses him and portrays the character correctly, then THAT could work.

If Tatum leaves, would you like the movie to continue? If so, who would YOU choose to portray the Cajun mutant?

What do you think?
