In today’s breaking Geek news, it has been confirmed that Michael Cera will take up the red, yellow, green and, um, black costume to portray Robin in the Lego Batman movie.
Just awesome.
The Lego Batman movie is scheduled for a 2017 release and it has already been confirmed that the fantastical Will Arnett will return as the voice of Lego Batman, after originally voicing the iconic character in the original Lego Movie.
Today’s news regarding the casting of Batman’s trusty sidekick, Lego Robin, ensures that the Lego Batman movie will see a fantastical Arrested Development re-team, as Michael Cera signs up for the role.
Honestly, I kinda wanna see GOB Bluth and George-Michael Bluth team up to fight crime – can you imagine? Just awesome.
Seriously though, this a brilliant casting choice for the voice of Robin. Cera’s soft, child-like tones and innocence will fit well with the character and will bounce off Arnett’s gruff Batman.
Can’t wait to see the magic happen.
