During Comic-Con, a number of glorious things happened. The showing of Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle trailer was one of them.
I have that trailer right here for you now.
Can you say Awesomeo?
For those wondering exactly what The Man in the High Castle is, let me break it down for you. The Man in the High Castle is a book by legendary writer Philip K. Dick (the man who wrote such classics as Bladerunner, Minority Report and Total Recall) and is based in 1960’s America, in an alternate time line where The Nazi’s won the war. The book documents what it’s like for America’s to live under the scrutiny of a Nazi-led fascist government.
The concept is stunning as it is frightening and I think it’s entirely awesome for Amazon to take the job on.
At this juncture, it’s difficult to say how true to the book the story will end up being, but let’s just hope it looks a lot better than the Minority Report TV series that is also currently in developed. From what I’ve seen of that it looks hilarious – and it’s not supposed to be.
Anyway, at Comic-Con this past weekend the cast and crew from the show revealed the first trailer from the series and it looks immense.
