No thanks, I'm good.News hot off the press today suggests that 20th Century Fox are planning to reboot the awesome Alan Moore comic title The Extraordinary League of Gentlemen.
…awesomeo???
The news comes from Hollywood Insider agency The Tracking Board and is met with mix feelings by this fan.
I loved the first couple of The Extraordinary League of Gentlemen graphic novels when there was a little more substance to the story, but the recent iterations of Alan Moore’s title, I have to admit, have been leaving me feeling a little empty inside.
As for the original film itself, the movie had a decent concept and was surrounded by a half decent cast but it just failed to meet up to expectations and deliver the final killer blow.
Despite the movie not being the greatest in terms of critic reviews (Sean Connery was so unimpressed with the production, it was his last major movie role), the movie was actually something of a success at the box office. From a budget of $78 million, the movie managed to draw a massive $175 million and upwards worldwide.
It’s no wonder Fox want to jump back on the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen cash-cow.
Fox has hired John Davis to get the production off the ground, whilst the hunt is on for a director willing to take up this monumental challenge.
