Okay, so brace yourself people – we may be getting a movie that nobody asked for, a lot of people want, but everybody absolutely needs.
What the hell am I talking about? Well, yesterday the PERFECT actress put her name forward to portray Squirrel Girl in the Marvel Movie Universe.
Just awesome.
So firstly, you may be wondering just who in the hell this Squirrel Girl is. I mean, the character isn’t one of Marvel’s most popular characters of all time, right???
Well, she’s more popular than you might think… and more powerful. Born with a gene mutation, Doreen Green found herself with the powers of a Squirrel. I shit you not. Her powers first manifested in the form of a Squirrel tail, but soon she developed enhanced strength, reflexes and leap.
In the past, she’s taken down the likes of Dr Doom, MODOK, Terrax, Fin Fang Foom and even Thanos. No, I can’t believe it either. But it happened. Check out her full bio right here at the Marvel wiki.
You guessed it. It’s Anna Kendrick. Anna Kendrick wants to play Squirrel Girl in the Marvel Movie Universe. Stop for just a second to get your head around that.
And wouldn’t she be absolutely perfect for the role? I mean, I don’t want to say she looks like a Squirrel or anything, but come on. It seems like a perfect match, am I right?
“My brother sent me a Squirrel Girl comic because he thinks I should [play her],” the actress told Net-a-Porter. “I don’t know what Squirrel Girl does other than be half squirrel, but I could be half squirrel!”
You know what, Anna? I think you could be too. And so does every Marvel fan in the entirely universe.

How awesome is that?
But more importantly, I’m beginning to see how the Marvel Movie Universe is going. Thanos is the big bad for the next Avengers movie. Anna Kendrick now wants to play Squirrel Girl. In the comics, Squirrel Girl has defeated Thanos. Are we now seeing The Avengers secret weapon here?
I suspect not, but it’s amuses me to think about it.
