That’s right, news just in is suggesting Jon Bernthal’s The Punisher will be officially be getting his own Netflix series.
Can you say awesomeo?
Without giving too much away with spoilers, I think it was fairly obvious at the end of Daredevil season 2, we hadn’t seen the end of The Punisher. His story arc reached a climax and Frank Castle was presented with an opportunity for a new beginning. He painted the skull on his bullet proof vest and grabbed a load of guns and wandered off into the sunset (after shooting the shit out of some ninja’s first).
So it comes as no surprise that The Punisher will be getting his own show, at least according to Entertainment Weekly he will be.
There has been rumours floating around for a while that The Punisher would be getting his own series. Even last summer, after the Netflix higher-ups were so impressed with Bernthal’s version of Frank Castle, the word spread around the interwebs like wildfire.
Now it seems, the series has actually been ordered and Bernthal will return to reprise the iconic role. Writer and executive producer Writer and executive producer Steve Lightfoot (of Hannibal fame) will be the showrunner.
I cannot wait for this to hit Netflix!
