Celebrating Mad Max: Fury Road
If you haven’t already seen it, Mad Max: Fury Road is a film that falls into the ‘epic’ category and it’s something you NEED to see.
I loved it because it was an action packed hell ride that managed to pack in so much story it was untrue. The world George Miller and his band of writers managed to craft as a backdrop to all of the adrenaline-filled action was stunning.
And obviously because it was Miller, there were elements in the movie that stayed true to the originals (the metal leg brace from when Max was shot in the knee in the original Mad Max).
Indeed, Miller intended the movie to be a reboot, but did not want to start at the beginning of Max becoming the Road Warrior we saw him as. He wanted to us to see Max already in the post-apocalyptic world, but with the nods to the originals we can assume that Max’s history pretty much remains as it was.
It’s no wonder that Tom Hardy has signed up to star in 3 more Mad Max movies.
